SQUARE BUTTE GOLF COURSE offers a unique opening hole to your round. You tee off in front of the clubhouse probably with no more than a pitching wedge to a 145 yard, par 3 which lies about 100 feet below the tee box.

The green lies next to Square Butte Creek, but the water isn’t in play unless you really over-club on your tee shot.

The course, which plays to a par 72 for 18 holes, offers other changes in elevation, as you might expect from the opening shot, as well as some blind shots to pesky greens. You should also be prepared to play your best wind-control game.

Restaurant, lounge, driving range, and cart rental are all available.
